Hailing from coastal Devon, Brighton-based singer-songwriter James Robinson has been favorably compared to vocalists such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Jamie Cullum. The son of a writer and a music journalist, James established himself as the charismatic front man of alt-pop band Two Spot Gobi.

With vocals that have been described as “assured”, “enticing” and “all the more powerful live” (Music Week), James has always had the ability to create an immediate emotional relationship with his audience. At the beginning of 2012, he started working on material that more closely represents his distinctive musical style and ability to connect personally with people.

With his new EP “Ropes” James makes a powerful transition from feel-good pop, to a slightly darker, more intimate experience, giving the listener strong melodies accompanied by raw and honest lyrics. Citing influences such as Jeff Buckley, James Blake, Adele and Ryan Adams, the “Ropes” EP is a captivating collection of beautifully crafted songs engaging the listener through their challenging yet addictive quality.
